PTH08T210W: ABOUT THE OUPUT CAPACITOR OF PTH08T210

Part Number: PTH08T210W

Dear moudle expert,

Could you please help clarify how to select the output capacitor value for PTH08T210W?

dos the Co requirement means for the total capacitor on the same net_work of the PTH08T210W?

based on the transient voltage deviation requirment, customer prefer to select a 1500uF Co, you can see below customer's schematic, but there are another capacitor at the load VCC pin side, so the total capacitor at the output of PTH08T210W is much higher than 1500uF. So does customer can reduce the 1500uF to 1000uF if there is another capacitor with 500uF at the load VCC pin side?

also we can see there is a note in datasheet, <3000uF? could you please help explain the reason? thanks.

Best Regards

Iven Xu

  • The 1500uF refers to the total capacitor on the same network.

Yes, customer can reduce the 1500uF to 1000uF if there is another capacitor with 500uF at the load VCC pin side.

You cannot have more than 3000uF of ceramic type capacitors if you are not using the TurboTrans feature. Using more than 3000uF or ceramic capacitance can cause instability.
