May you pls help double check TPS40425 circuit? because these some different between webench and datasheet.

Attached file is my customer circuit, May you pls also help check?

form now when i checking and now have some question as below: may you pls help?

  1. May we know how to check ADDR1/ADDR2 resistor value? I run Webench RADDR0=RADDR1 = 16.2K. but my customer set RADDR0 = 37.4K/RADDR1=25.5K.Is this have any impact?
  2. The Customer is use TPS40425 in Vin 12V/Vout 3.3V Iout = 50A
  3. FRom Webench ,the FLT1 and FLT2, ISH1 and ISH2 are short. But Datasheet 7.5.1 Multi-Phase Applications seems let these pins FLT1 and FLT2, ISH1 and ISH2 seems all floating, may we know which is right?
  4. May we know where the Webench COMP2 connect to?

  • Hi Bogey,

    RADDR1 should be 25.5k, and RADDR0 should be 37.4k. You need to change PMBus address sepc in Webench to 19d (equivalent to 13h).

    12V input, 3.3V output with 50A load in general is ok, but need to be careful about thermal design.

    Fig 20 in 7.5.1 is 2 output operation, thus FLT1 and FLT2 are floating. With 2-ph operation, please refer to table 4 and it shows ISH1 and ISH2 are connected to ISH bus, and FLT1 and FLT2 are connected to FLT bus.

    For 2-ph operation, please connect COMP2 to COMP1.

    We will continue to review other portion of the schematic and update you if we find anything else.

    May you pls help check if enclosed file circuit can be use in 12Vin3.3Vout 60A application?

    If yes, where we need to modify?(customer also use webench to run, but inductor need> 1.3uH). now they have 0.47uH in their factory.

    How to use fusion digital power design?as below attached we want OCP is set in 90A.but Iout_OC_fault limit just can set in 50A.

    is there have any document can let us easy to set up fusion?(which items is we need to set up, which items we can ignore)

    May here have new info?

    And now have some confuse between Fusion and webench.

    foe example, the Iout OC limit maxium just can set to 49A. but wenench can run 60A output current.

    may i check which one is right ? which page and pamater we need to set up?

    So we may need is there having any expain document to teach how to use fusion.

    In datasheet, TPS40425 maximun overcurrent protection range is 50A. does it means channel 1 maximun program range is 50A and other channel will apply the same?

  • Hi Eddie,

    In 2-phase mode, Channel 1 will determine the per-phase over-current limit, and 50A is the maximum. So add 2-phase together it will be 100A maximum. That's why in webench 2-phase can achieve 60A total current.

    In 2-output operation, Channel 1 and Channel 2 can set over current limit individually.
