bq2954: Can charger provide some level of battery capacity?

Looking at a Li-Ion charger, such as bq2954. But, do you have any chargers that provide some level of capacity other than just SOC? Or do I need to use a gas gauge?

The BQ2954 is a very old device with limited features. We have introduced a number of devices with improved features, some that may work for your application are BQ2501X, BQ2425X or others depending on your requirements.

Generally a gas gauge is required for SOC information.

Bill, thanks for reply and just what I guessed. Just wanted to make sure as have been a little out of touch with latest chargers, etc.
