BQ24130: minimum charge voltage

HI, is the BQ24130 able to charge a 3 cells 4.2V battery (max 12.6 V) with 12 V as PVCC ? If not, what is the minimum gap between PVCC and Vbatt ? Best regards

Hi Franck,

The bq24130 is a buck converter, the input needs to be higher than the battery voltage to run properly. We recommend not exceeding more than 95% duty cycle to ensure good operation. This means with a 12V input, the output cannot go any higher than 11.4V.

If 12VIN is your limitation, I recommend going with the bq24171 (JEITA) or bq24172 (non-JEITA), as they can have customizable battery voltage using the FB pin.
