UCD90240: Reference Decoupling

Part Number: UCD90240

Hi,

Page 42 of the device datasheet states "One 1-μF X7R ceramic capacitor in parallel with one 0.01-μF X7R ceramic capacitor for VREFA+ decoupling".

On the UCD90240 EVM, we place .01uF, .1uF, and 10uF capacitors on the VREF line.

Is one of the above configurations more preferred/recommended by TI for a customer design? Or is the difference between them negligible?

Thanks!

Ryan

  • The 10uF is required by the Reference device itself.
1uF gives more filtering functions. there is no much difference. If you have concerns, please follow the number from Datasheet.
