TPS92512HV: Can TPS92512HV be used with TPS92661-Q1 or TPS92662-Q1?

 Hello guys,

 One of my customer is wants to driver their LED with 2.5A using TPS92512HV. Also they want to use TPS92661-Q1 or 662-Q1 with the device.

 Is their any problem if TPS92512HV is used with TPS92661/662? If is there any concern, could you please give me your comment or advice?

    Hello Kazuya,

    The TPS92512 is a current mode control device. As a result it will not have the bandwidth to handle operation with the TPS92661/2 well.

    The LM3409 is hysteretic and designed specifically for such transients, it is very fast. Other options to use with the TPS92661/2 depending on the current you need would also be the TPS92515, TPS92640, or the TPS92518.

    The TPS92661 EVM uses the LM3409, it is the simplest solution for 2.5A.

    Thank you very much for your prompt reply.

    I will recommend them to use LM3409/3409HV, TPS92640, and TPS92518(2ch output) because their requirement of LED driving current is 2.5A.
