REF3233: Clarification regarding the Output voltage noise generation

Part Number: REF3233

Hi All,
Currently, we are developing the product for the Train control systems for railway.
In which, we have selected the REF3233 for Analog section power supply. Our end product needs to be noise protected system for certification.
Just, we have saw that, in the REF3233 datasheet electrical characteristics table, this REF3233 will generate the noise.
Do we need to protect using LC filter for the voltage generated by REF3233?
Do we need to go for alternate part number options?

  • Hi S.Saravanakumar,

Noise is a very system dependent parameter. The Ref3233 is a very low noise device for its power level.
I would not use an LC filter but I would use a RC low pass filter to cut down some of the broadband noise.
In terms of alternate parts, this Is system dependent and I can help you with this but I would need more information.
Can you tell me more about your system? Which adc, ect...
What requirements are you looking for in a Voltage Reference?
