BQ25896: BQ25896 termination accuracy range question

Part Number: BQ25896

Dear TI member

Follow link is last time question: e2e.ti.com/.../638510

They had done test that if ICHG less then 1024mA, termination current will meet the datasheet.

For now customer want to know accuracy range for their setting. ( ICHG: 1856mA, ITERM: 128mA ),

I don't have customer all data but termination current seems at 170mA +/- 20%

Customer's customer want to know the range value.

Please help!

Thank you~

BR

Bruce

  • Bruce,

I have asked our test team for any ITERM=128mA when ICHRG is set higher 1344mA. The ITERM accuracy will be worse when ICHRG is set higher than 1344mA because a larger FET is turned on for high charge currents, making lower current measurements less accurate. Is it possible for your customer to monitor ICHG with the ADC and then lower the charge current register below the 1344mA setting once the IC enters CV mode and the charge current has tapered down?
  • Hi Jeff

OK! Understand! Thanks for your suggestion!
