TPS65001 Power Pad

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65001

How should one hook up the Power Pad on the TPS65001?  Should it be to PGND, ground, floating etc?

Thanks,

Dave

  • Please note that the TPS65001 does not have a PowerPad, it has an Exposed Thermal Pad.  The mechanical drawings at the back of the datasheet will tell you if the IC has a PowerPad or an Exposed Thermal Pad.  You MUST solder the Exposed Thermal Pad to the PWB.  The preferred connection is to PGND and then connect GND and PGND at the Exposed Thermal Pad.  I recommend that you copy the EVM layout.
