TPS28225: Propagation delay part-to-part skew

Part Number: TPS28225
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC27201

Hi,

The datasheet only provides typical propagation delay of 14ns. Do you have the data for part-to-part skew of the propagation delay?

Thanks,

Hien

  • Hi Hien,

Thanks for using tps28225. Im an apps engr with this part. Let me check out if we have any data on part to part skew for tps28225 and ill update you asap.

    Thanks,
  • Hi Hien,

Welcome to e2e, and thanks for your interest in our products!

If Jeff is unable to find this data, can you give us more information about your application? Perhaps we can recommend an alternate TI part that will fulfill your needs.
  • Hi Don,

We are driving multiple half-bridge, each with a separate gate driver. We need to minimize the delay part-to-part skew in order not to push too much heat in one FET. I also saw the UCC27201 driver that seems to work well, but there's no skew data either. If we can achieve a skew of 15ns or less, that would be ideal. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Hien

  • Hi Hien,

Since the data you are asking about is not in the datasheet, we cannot guarantee these values. The results from test data of parameters outside of the datasheet parameters are ATE bench tested and not production tested and tested with a limited number of parts and are NOT guaranteed.

Part to part skew can be realized from the min and max mean values for prop delay for a limited number of parts at one temp. Like Don said, I unfortunately couldnt find this data for TPS28225 however I was able to find the char data for UCC27201. This data tests 30 units with limits that span the 50ns max prop delay. From this data the part to part prop delay for 30 parts only varies a few nanoseconds across temperature. It should be able to meet a skew of 15ns or less but since this is not stated in the datasheet, it cannot be guaranteed.

Does this help you out with your concerns? please let me know if you have any more questions.

    thanks,
