TPS62801: TPS62801 Power Save/PWM mode confirmation.

Part Number: TPS62801
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS8268105

Hi

TPS62801 VSEL/MODE pin is multi function

We can use external resistor to select output voltage(16 selectable Vout).

After power up (VSEL→MODE), the pin is configured as an input for Mode Selection.

Low level at this pin selects "Power Save Mode" operation, and a high level selects forced "PWM" operation.

It's means we must use one GPIO to control which mode do we want?

If we don't use GPIO to control high/low, by default is low level (Power Save Mode)?

My application is : Vout 1.0V , forced PWM operation.

Thanks!!

  • Hi Hung Ting,

Yes, this is correct. The resistor will register a low at the pin and enable PFM mode. You need to drive the pin high with a GPIO, after startup, to enter forced PWM mode.

The TPS8268105 is a forced PWM module, which supports 1.05Vout.
