TPS61088: About dynamically output voltage solution

Part Number: TPS61088
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PMP9774

Hi,

Could you tell me about the dynamically variable output voltage of TPS61088?
Customer wants to change the output voltage by applying voltage to the FB pin.
Connection configuration is below.
(Condition is Vin=2.5V to 3.6V Vout=3.6V to 5V)

Q1.Is this allright?

Q2.When Q1 is no problem,
Please tell me the frequency range of signals that can be input to FB pin.
Customer is concerned about phase margin.

Best Regards,
Yusuke/Japan Disty

  • Hi Yusuke-san,

The concept is OK, but make sure the Vomin should be higher than Vinmax. if the Vinmax=3.6V, then suggest to set the Vomin to above 4.5V.

The output voltage can be a big range, like from 4.5V to 12V. Based on the inject signal. And the inject signal on the FB pin should be a DC voltage. If the source is a PWM signal, then you need to filter it.

We have a TI design PMP9774 with similar concept and we also check the loop stability, you can refer to this TI design.
