TLV742P: Startup time variation

Part Number: TLV742P

Hi team,

The datasheet shows a startup time value in a condition of Cout=1uF and Iout=150mA.
How much does the startup time varies when Cout and Iout are changed?
If you have simulation result or measurement data which describes startup time dependency on Cout and Iout, could you share it with me?

-I/O condition
Vin = 3.3V
Vout = 2.8V

Regards,
Saito

  • Hi Saito,

    The startup time for TLV742P is governed by the startup time of the internal reference voltage. As such unless there is enough output capacitance and/or load current during startup to trigger current limit, the startup time should not have much variation. If current limit is triggered during startup, then the startup time will be limited by the current limit.

    Very Respectfully,
    Ryan
  • Hi Ryan,

    Thank you for your reply. Your answer is helpful for me to understand the start up behavior.
    I understand that the start up time does not change significantly when the load current is less than the current limit.

    Saito
