LM51501-Q1: LM5150 fast turn off bypass FET with lowest power consumption

Part Number: LM51501-Q1

Dear Team,

We want to use LM5150 status pin to control bypass FET during input voltage higher than target threshold .

However, in datasheet 7.3.10, the pull up resistor of status pin is suggest to use 5kohm to 100kohm.

This will consume tens to hundreds of uA.

Questions:

  1. Is it okay to use larger resistor for pull up to reduce power consumption during bypass?
  2. If we add large pull up resistor, how to make this bypass FET turn off faster?

Thanks

Joey

  • Hi Joey,

Thank you for considering the Lm5150 in your project. I think you also asked our FAE to contact us for the same question, and the answer was provided. Let me copy the answer:

Can you check the EVM schematic and its PMOS bypass switch circuit at www.ti.com/.../lm5150rumevm ? This bypass switch turns off as soon as the boost converter start switching.

So, lets close this thread here.

    Thanks,
    Youhao
