WEBENCH® Tools/TPS62177: Webench Export does not work correctly?

Genius 12865 points
Part Number: TPS62177
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI,

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Hello Team,

if I do a Webench Simulation for TPS62177 I see Vout = 3.3V which is expected. Using the "Sim Export" button to create a TINA-TI design worked so far but the Vout has been simulated to 2.3V (see attachment). Something seems to be wrong.

Thanks and Best Regards,

Hans

  • Hi Hans,

This is expected start-up behavior for this device as device has lower current limit during startup. This is causing Vout to regulate to lower value than desired. Kindly let us know in case of any queries.

Below is the snapshot from the data-sheet FYR.

Instead, you can try simulating 2-step startup test-bench in WEBENCH. Here initially during start-up, lower load is drawn. Once the output settles to desired value, load is increased to full value. Currently, we don't have feature to export test-benches other than Startup into TINA-TI.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Harish
