Hi Team,

Could you please let us know about parts number of Aircoil (0.5 mH, DCR = 20 mW)?

  • Hi Kanemaru-san,

An aircoil inductor is a newer inductor construction technique which is said to eliminate all switching/core losses. Thus, there are just DCR losses and it is more efficient. It is therefore shown as a reference of how high the efficiency can be, with a perfect (AC) inductor.

What is your Vin, Vout, and Iout required? For example, we have the newer, smaller TPS62801 which generates even higher efficiency than the above with a normal inductor.
  • Hi Chris-san,

Thank you for the information and your advice.

I understand that this data of Aircoil is simulation value so not actual data (not actual parts number).

    Is my understanding correct?

  • Hi Kanemaru-san,

It is measured data with an air coil inductor. Let me check if I can find further details.

What do you need in your application?
  • Hi Chris-san,

    Application is consumer device.

Our customer would like to know the parts number of Aircoil.

    I’d greatly appreciate your verification.

I’m looking forward to hearing from you.

  • Again, we recommend the newer, smaller TPS62800 family for these applications. Why does it not fit?

The air coil is just a wire with the parameters (L and DCR) shown in the graph. There is no part number.
  • Hi Chris-san,

Thank you for the information and advice.

I understand. Thank you very much.
