LM36274: Can LED driving outputs be connected in parallel?

Part Number: LM36274
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS61176, LP8556,

Hi,

we are looking into LM32674 and other chips to drive WLEDs with up to 50mA.

We have 2 or 3 LED-strings consisting of 4 to 6 WLEDs, each.

They shall independently be switched on and off.

Input voltage range is 3 to 5V.

When going for the LM32674 we would need to connect string outputs LED1 to LED2 and LED3 to LED4 for 60mA capability.

Unfortunately the datasheet does not mention this possibility (TPS61176 datasheet does), but as outputs are true current sinks: why not?

Are there any restrictions to expect?

Or maybe TPS61176 or LP8556 do better fit to our requirements, when combined with high side switches (PFET) to select the string to be active at a time.

Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you very much for your support!

Best Regards
