LMZ31520: Can 40A be realized by two LMZ31520 in parallel? LMZ31530 can reach 30A, but can it be paralleled if it has a larger current?

Hi,

If we want to achieve 30-40A current power supply, the LMZ31520 can reach 20A, can 40A be realized by two LMZ31520 in parallel?
I know that the LMZ31530 can reach 30A; but can it be paralleled if we need to have a larger current?

    Hi Elsa,

    The LMZ31530 does not have a share pin to allow current sharing. An alternative is the LM31710 which has been tested in a 6 device application for up to 60A detailed in Section 7.3.9. This means you would need 3 - 4 of the LMZ31710 to achieve your 30 - 40A  application. Note that this device is a 10x10 which compared to the LMZ31530 15x15 package size. 

    Additionally there is the PTH08T250W (in a through-hole type package) which has the same input/output range as the LMZ31530 and is rated up to 50A.
