The customer is requesting,

- Reverse current protection

- Reverse voltage protection (-30V)

- Protect inrush current (hot swap) support

So he is interested in SNVA683.

Does the design of SNVA683 support reverse current protection?

I found TIDA-00233 reference design.

What is the functional difference between SNVA683 and TIDA-00233?

According to datasheet of LM5069, it can have option to dv/dt start-up at GATE.

Is this option applicable of TIDA-00233 to enhance inrush current protection at startup?

Hi,

What is the maximum load current? we have integrated solution TPS2660, which can meet all these requirements up to 2A.

1A> SNVA683 provides reverse current protection only when the device is OFF.

2A> TIDA-00233 reference design: LM5050 controls the external FET as ideal diode and provides active reverse current protection

3A> dv/dt start-up circuit can be added in TIDA-00233 reference design

Thank you for your reply.

I'm sorry I did not provide current information.

The customer want to support 3A as forward current. So TPS2660 could not be used.

As supplemental information, they have already evaluated LM74700.
LM74700 could provide good characteristics for their requirement, but it is in development and impossible to make it in time.

I think TIDA-00233 would be good solution.
Do you have any concern to adopt it?

Hi,

TIDA-00233 can be used, there is no concern. The other option is to parallel two TPS2660 devices in parallel as covered in the thread.
