LP8555: Can use 1 inductor and diode to drive higher than 6 channel

Hi team,

Can I connect VOUT_A to not only LEDA1~6 but also LEDB1~6? (only use one boost component like L and diode)

Or do you have other suggestion to fulfill below spec? if single channel can't do that, just let me know do we have other product which can support total 12Vout/500mA output.

Hi,

No, you can not connect VOUT_A to LEDB1-6. Because LEB1-6 were controlled by another boost loop. For your application, I think LP8860 may be the appropriate device. LP8860 can output 150mA per channel, you can sonnect 4 channel current sink together to output high current. And LP8860 can support 3V to 48V, and I2C interface.

LP8555 is the actually catalog device,not Q-grade device.

Yes, LP8860 only has Q grade. If you don't need I2C interface, I think TPS61169 is a very simple and low cost device for your application. Can you tell me why you need I2C interface?

Hi Sean,

I'm still checking with customer, currently their spec is not fixed yet, just ask me to provide a high current solution with I2C.
I search ti.com but our product seems has no too many choice to fulfill their spec, but I'll discuss with them for detailed spec.
