WEBENCH® Tools/LM3485: LM3485

Part Number: LM3485

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

Aided by Webench, I designed a buck DC/DC converted based on the LM3485MM/NOPB
- Input DC 20 V - 25 V
- Output:12 V at 2.5 A
Once manufactured the DC/DC converted, it is not protected against short circuits.
Webench proposed
- Radj = 82.5kOhm
- Rsense = 20mOhm
Actually, I should decrease Radj downto 15kOhm in order to get the DC/DC protected against shortcircuit. This new value of Radj is coherent to the datasheet but it is not aligned to the Webench recommendation.
What I should do?. Whis is the right Radj value?
Thanks
  • Angel,

Please follow the recommendations stated in the datasheet. The datasheet will almost always be more reliable than WEBENCH because it is made so precisely to explain the details of the part. WEBENCH is better for system design and applications. We will look into this discrepancy. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.

  • Thanks, Sam.

I'll be aware on the solution of the discrepancy.

    Best regards.
