This sort of has been asked already here:
TPS22933: What is the absolute maximum ratting for TPS22933 CAP pin, pin 6? - Power management forum...
But to the most important question, there's still no answer:
Assumed we use the TPS22933 for ORing to a battery charger, is it possible to only use CAP out? If so, what's the maximum input and maximum output rating? Is it still 50mA? Or is the "Autoswitch" (as seen in the diagram) capable of higher currents?
Hi Chris,
Thanks for reaching out on E2E!
You are correct, the CAP pin of the TPS22933 can only support 50mA LOUT current. If you're looking for a different power mux device that can support ORing for a battery charger, I recommend taking a look at the TPS2121 or the TPS2115A. The TPS2121 can operate over a larger voltage range and offers additional protection features such as overvoltage protection, current limit, and thermal shutdown, whereas the TPS2115A offers better IQ, ISD, and Ron than the TPS22933.
Thanks,
Arthur Huang
