TLC59108F: Change of blinking frequency fails

Part Number: TLC59108F

I have got a problem with the TLC59108F LED Driver:
There is a LED connected to LED7 output port which should change blinking frequency every five seconds from slow to fast and back.

It starts blinking slow and then stops blinking when I try to change the blinking frequency. It stays on or off at random, starts again sometimes and stops with the next I2C frame.

Have a look at my I2C Data Log:

1. Enable oszillator
2. set Group Control to blinking-mode
3. auto-increment write starting with PWM0 register until LEDOUT1 register: PWM0..7 full duty cycle; group duty cycle 50%; group-freq. set for slow blinking; enable LED7 for group control
4. auto-increment write starting with PWM0 register until LEDOUT1 register: PWM0..7 full duty cycle; group duty cycle 50%; group-freq. set for fast blinking; enable LED7 for group control
5. repeat 3.
6. repeat 4.
...

Can someone tell me where the problem is?

Is it not allowed to change the blinking frequency during operation?
