UCC2818-EP: maximum duty cycle

Hey Mohamed,

In general you can clamp the duty cycle by clamping the error voltage (CAOUT) however this is difficult as I don't know what value you would need to clamp it to in order to achieve a given duty cycle. This would also not clamp the duty cycle at start up as the SS pin is used for the error signal at start up.

There is no other way to clamp the duty cycle of the controller unfortunately.

I want to limit the duty cycle at about 50%. So, if I connect directly a zener diode (about 3.3V) on CAOUT pin, I can to clamp this voltage at middle of high level output voltage?

Hey Mohamed,

It depends on what the error level needs to be to set the output duty cycle to 50%.

Its likely you will have to test this. Its possible though.
