Input 400Vdc and ouput 3.3Vdc by using LM5025A, is there any customer or engineer try this application in reality? It is theoretically possible if peripheral parameters are set to be reasonable.

Hello Mike,
You need to specify your power level before you look at the type of controller you intend to use.
But I can say that the LM5025A is intended as an active clamp forward controller and these type of controllers are generally used in low voltage input DCDC converters. The input voltage is generally around 48V. There is not advantage to using the LM5025 in a 400V input application.

Dear John,

My customer had tried to use LM5025A at 400Vdc input voltage and it worked normally, but what the engineer concerned about is if any hidden danger or reliability exist in the system.

Hello Mike,
You need to review the design in order to answer that question.
This involves evaluation of the schematic as a minimum requirement.
