Hello,

I have been searching for a USB port controller chip that will provide the correct data signatures for iPhone and Samsung charging applications. This is for a charging only application, so I do not need a chip that provides data transfer capability. I was previously looking at the TPS2513, but I was told by someone from TI support that the TPS2513 does not provide the correct data signatures for iPhone and Samsung charging. Can someone explain why this is and provide an option that fits the criteria mentioned above? Just to reiterate, I need a chip that will provide proper data signatures for iPhone and Samsung charging that is meat for use in a charging only application.

Hi Nathan,

TPS2513 is support DCP auto charging for iphone and sumsung phone. If you just need charging function for the phone , the tps2513 is suitable for your solution.

TPs2513 is focus on charging whithout data communication in the DP/DM line. If you want to choose not only charging but also data communication function feature device you can consider tps2549.
