UCC2819A: about zero power comparator.

Part Number: UCC2819A

Hello.

John-san

https://e2e.ti.com/support/power-management/f/196/t/778376

thank you for your answer.

I understand that we are shipping tests on the zero power comparator.

We want to measure the device's capability at the threshold of the zero power comparator to help design.

Please tell me how to measure it.
Please tell me about IC PIN settings.
Thank you.

  • Hello Masazumi-san,
I do not have a schematic which shows an open loop test fixture for the UCC2819A.
    This is what I suggest:
Use figure 1 in the data sheet .
Do not connect the high voltage AC input
Apply 15V bias voltage to the UCC2819A pin 15
Apply 2V to the enable pin 10
Replace the soft start capacitor C4 with a 500kOhm. multi turn variable resistor.
Monitor the DRVOUT signal and measure the voltage on VAOUT.

As the resistance value on SS decreases you should be able to see that the pulse width of DRVOUT decreases.
    Eventually DRVOUT stops switching.
The voltage on EAOUT should be 0.33V at this point.
This is how the no load power comparator threshold is measured.

    Regards
    John
