TPS1H100-Q1: /ST status

Part Number: TPS1H100-Q1

Hi all

Would you mind if we ask TPS1H100-Q1?

Table1 shows the operation of /ST signal.

</ST operation in case of TPS1H100-Q1>
No load : Low
With load : High
Short to GND(Current limit) : Low
In case of load, /ST operation  was High. Is it correct operation?

</ST operation in case of TPS4HXXX-Q1 or TPS2HXXX-Q1>
No load : High
With load : High
Short to GND(Current limit) : Low
Is it correct operation?

We could not find these description on the datasheet.

Kind regards

Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hello Matsumoto-san,

ST pin in both devices acts the same way. Diag-EN pin should be high for diagnostic. If Diag-EN is low, the ST pin in both devices is high impedance. In Open load and the device in off state, the ST pin should go low (pull up resistor on output is a must for open load detection in off state)

    Thank you for your reply.
So, does /ST pin logic depend on Diag-EN setting?

    We mentioned as follows;
Do these depend on Diag-EN setting?

</ST operation in case of TPS1H100-Q1>
    No load : Low
    With load : High
Short to GND(Current limit) : Low

</ST operation in case of TPS4HXXX-Q1 or TPS2HXXX-Q1>
    No load : High
    With load : High
Short to GND(Current limit) : Low

    Kind regards,

    Hirotaka Matsumoto

  • Hello Matsumoto-san,

    In addition to previous comment:

1- TPS1H100-Q1 detects open load in ON state

2- TPS4Hxxx and TPS2Hxxx do not detect open load in ON state

I hope that answers your question and please let me know for further support.

    Regards
