TPS51225: Difference in VIN of the EVM and device itself

Hello,

Can you please advise us why the EVM input range is 8V-20V while TPS51225 is up to 24V?

Hi Elisha,

TPS51225 can support 5.5-24V. I've noticed that the input capacitors are rated as 25V on the EVM. So, I think you can try with this range.

Not sure why the author set the range like this... Maybe just want to leave some margin.

Hi Elisha,

It's not a must that EVM must have the same range with the IC. Actually this device is normally used in 12 or 19V power bus. This is the reason why EVM is set to 8-20V.
