TPS23754EVM-420: PMP5818 vs TPS23754EVM-420

We are working on designing a PoE Splitter, We require 5v 4.5A Supply on the Splitter side. We came across both PMP5818 and TPS23754EVM-420 design. What is the difference in both. Which one we have to pick up for reference.

I would be good to know before starting our design.

Hi Karthi Ganesan,

Both PMP5818 and TPS23754EVM-420 can meet the output spec of your application, the main difference is on the power topology.

· PMP5818 adopts Active Clamp Forward (ACF), which has an 91% max end-to-end efficiency.

‧TPS23754EVM-420 adopts Driven Synchronous Flyback, which has max 85% end-to-end efficiency.

Second, TPS23754EVM-420 supports Aux power source if you need external adapter input.

We are referring the BOM http://www.ti.com/lit/df/slvrb19/slvrb19.pdf which is shared by TI. some of the components are obsolete and it is had to find. Can you please update the BOM Sheet.
