TPS7A85A: About the test condition with Bias voltage

There is thing I want to check.

Regarding the drop voltage specification of TPS7A85A [Electrical Characteristics], the test condition with Vbias is Vias = 5.0V.
Figure 26 shows a graph. It is Vbias = 3.3V.
Is this just a different test condition?
Also, is it correct that there is no significant change in the graph in Figure 26 at Vbias = 3.3V or 5.0V?

    You are right, due to the design of this device, the dropout curves as shown in Figure 26 will pretty much stay the same for Vbias = 3.3V and 5V.

    Figure 23 24 shows a graph of Drop voltage versus input voltage (with and without bias)
    Is the condition when you get this graph Vin = Vout?

  • Hi Kishi-san,

    Figure 23 and 24 do not specify the Vout conditions with the plots. For this kind of plots, normally the FB pin is shorting to ground to have the pass-FET on and a 4A current was forced to be sinked from the output. At the same, the voltage on the output has been recorded.

    Here the output voltage is measured and the difference between Vin and Vout is the dropout recorded in the plots.

    Does it make sense?
