TLC5940: About output current

Part Number: TLC5940

Hi team,

I have some questions about the absolute maximum rating of the output current.

It is written that Output current is DC 130mA.

Does this mean that it does not include instantaneous current such as power supply transient and load transient?

The recommended constant current for operation is up to 120mA.

The constant current error is up to 8% according to the data sheet, so 120mA * 1.08 = 129.6mA at 120mA setting.

If line regulation and load regulation are added to this, it will be over 130mA.

The constant current can be set by an external resistor, but does it mean that the resistance accuracy must be within 0.3% in order not to exceed the absolute maximum rating of 130 mA?

I understand that the user should only care about the constant current setting.

Please tell me if it is not correct.

Best regards,

Tomoaki Yoshida
