TPS53015: About the Over Current Limits

Part Number: TPS53015

Hi team,

I have a question about the Over Current Limits value in TPS53015.

I know, to program the OCL, a resister should be connected between DRVL and PGND.

The OCL resistor values are 7 patterns.(6.8k,11k,18k,27k,39k,56k,75k) in table 1. OCL Resistor values.

(please refer to TPS53015 datasheet page.8, SLVSBF0B)

Can I use other values when I choose a register value?

Can the OCL value only set seven pattern?

If I change the OCL resistor value to 8.2k, the OCL value will be the same value as when I selected a 6.8k.

Is it not possible to set a flexible the OCL value?

Best regards,

keisuke

  • Keisuke,

It is acceptable to use intermediate values.  In fact the EVM uses 15.4 kohm.  The relation ship between the resistor values and the Vtrip voltages in Table 1 is not linear.  It does not correlate well with the supposed nominal Itrip current of 15 uA.
