Dear Team,

What is the reason we need the diode here?

The datasheet mention it will be optional in the 8.2.1.2.13, but it didn't explain what is the pros and con.

Beside, what is the different LM5017 and LM24927?

Is it P2P replace product?

Connecting the VCC to the output helps to reduce the internal

power dissipation of the device. Please see section 7.3.2 of the data sheet.

Just curious can we connect the Vout pin to Vcc pin directly?

If not, why?

What is the IC's maximum consumption current? 26mA?

The diode prevents the VCC from being shorted out when Vout is lower than the internal VCC level.

I am not sure I understand what you mean by "maximum consumption current" ??

The LM5017 and LM34927 can be used interchangeably.

A curve of ICC vs VCC is given in figure 4 of the data sheet.

These are typical and are not guaranteed for min or max.
