Hi team

My customers want to simulate UCC28950-Q1 with the WEBENCH.

Input condition: 800V
Output condition: 24V / 10kW

The WEBENCH screen shows the maximum current of 300A as shown below.

Is current above 300A impossible to review with UCC28950-Q1?

We ran simulation to 250A condition on the WEBENCH.

The following message will be displayed and the simulation will not work.

Is there a way to make this possible?

We are going to review constants for the compensation circuit value with the WEBENCH.

Can I get Bode plot simulation results when the simulation runs normally?

I'll have to check with some colleagues about the Webench query.

You might like to download and run the TINA-TI simulations (.TSC files) TINA-TI is a free PSpice simulator and you can look at transient and steady state behaviour - including taking Bode Plots of the loop response. I spoke with a colleague about the Webench query - to summarise:

1/ The output current maximum value was 300A it will be increased to 1000A in the next update cycle. This will probably happen in 2 weeks time. In the meanwhile here's a 10kW design that my colleague did /cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/196/10kW-UCC28950-WEBENCH-design.pdf

2/ Webench does not support a gain phase plot (Bode Plot). I'd suggest you use TINA-TI and note that the datasheet for the UCC28950 has a detailed description and analysis of the loop compensation on P52 http://www.ti.com/lit/ds/symlink/ucc28950.pdf

The loop compensation calculations will be identical for the UCC28950, UCC28950-Q1 and UCC28951-Q1. Take a look at

and use the buck converter model described in the section called 'Current-mode forward and other buck-derived topologies' and a type 2 compensation network also described in this document.

3/ Simulation is not enabled for this device.

Finally, I would strongly recommend that you change to use the UCC28951-Q1 device - the reasons are in the document at http://www.ti.com/lit/an/slua853/slua853.pdf which is also linked in the datasheet.
