UCC25710: UCC25710 maximum support PWM dimming frequency to how many Hz?

Part Number: UCC25710

UCC25710 backlight driver, our customer's existing case, may need high-frequency PWM dimming (maximum 25KHz). Please help confirm, this IC maximum support PWM dimming frequency to how many Hz.

  • Hi YY,

I need to work out who the correct team is to respond to your question, please be aware that they may be based in the US and there is a public holiday there tomorrow which may delay any response.

There is nothing inherent in the UCC25710 controller that will prevent the DIM pin from operating at frequencies up to 25kHz.

There are system level issues that need to be considered to prevent improper operation though.  There is a set rise and fall time for DSR where it's recommend that at least 3 PWM pules for each, so 6 PWM pules total, occur.  This can be seen on figure 18, 20 and 21 of the datasheet.  It's recommended that the LLC power stage operating frequency is high enough where the dimming frequency can meet this requirement.

    Best Regards,

    Eric
