Hi Team,
In UCC23513 datasheet, it says one of the key feature is CMTI 150V/ns.
I want to know what is the benefit of high CMTI to the power supply system? Could you help explain it in detail?
Thanks very much!
BR
Cheng
Hello Cheng,
Thanks for your help promoting our drivers, my name is Mamadou Diallo from the High Power Drivers' team.
The high CMTI for this driver is important to increase the system noise immunity as you know with motor drive and other high power applications, common mode noise coupling and influence of other parasitic occur during switching. It is therefore beneficial to have a driver capable of rejecting common-mode noise (occurring from high frequency switching, non-optimized PCB layout, etc) between primary (controller side) and secondary side (power stage).
The better the CMTI of the gate driver, the better the noise immunity because it allows to switch the FETs faster which helps reduce the switching losses of the FETs being driven.
The link below discusses this in details.
