Dear sir,
Its recommended to use schottky diode for the protection of desaturation pin (data sheet section 10.2.2.7).
Could you please explain, how the schottky diode protects the desaturation pin and how to select the voltage and current rating of the schottky diode.?
Thanks & regards,
Rajasekaran
Hi Rajasekaran,
The Schottky diode is used to protect the desaturation pin by clamping it to the maximum rated voltage during a voltage transient event. Schottky diode is known for its fast recovery time and low capacitance making it suitable for fast protection against an overvoltage. You could refer to the design of the ISO5852SDWEVM-017 which uses a Schottky rated 30 V and 0.2 A.
Regards,
Audrey
