LM76002: difference from LM43602

Part Number: LM76002
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM43602

hello,

from the block diagram in the datasheet there is difference below between LM43602 and LM76002. could you tell me what the real difference between them?

1. in the 43602 the PFM detector signal is going int oscillator but 76002 is not, instead it goes to control logic

2. there is VCC enable in 43602 but there is not in 76002

3. there is boot UVLO in 76002 but there is not in 43602

4. there is no FPWM block in 76002 but there is not in 43602.

  • Ito-san,

There are many differences between these parts since they are different parts, not even in the same family. And the block diagram is a simplified representation of what's inside the IC. I can check on these 4 questions but can you please share the motivation for why you're seeking these answers? Is a customer concerned about something in particular?

  • Hi, to understand the system level differences between the two devices that are guaranteed in the EC table, I would start with the front page of the data sheet rather than looking at the functional block diagram.

For example, one key feature of the LM76002 is that it can operate in forced PWM (FPWM) mode. This is called out on the front page of the datasheet. LM43602 can not be ordered with FPWM mode, that is why it is not called out in the front page of the datasheet, nor contains a block in the block diagram.

To avoid confusion and to quickly understand the functions the device has, I would start with the front page and for further understanding, read the feature description section.

Let us know if you have any more questions.
