Hello,
We have a design using a BQ2004 as battery charger. We use a sensing resistor to control the current in our battery pack.
Can we use a BQ34Z100-G1 as Battery Gas Gauge in combination with it ?
Here are the schematics of the two from the datasheets :
If it is possible, how do i cable the two together ?
Can i use the same Sense Resitor for the two ?
PS : The IREG we want for the battery is 900mA.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Kevin
Hi Kevin,
I can't advise you if you can use the same sense resistor for both. The suggested R sense for the bq34z100 is 10mOhm. It will measure current across the gauge in both chg and dsg direction and can handle 900mA current load.
Hi Batt,
Ok, so is there any other solution to make the two BQ work together ?
Or is there an alternative, like an other Gas Gauge from TI that is compatible with the BQ2004 ?
Thanks,
Kevin
Hi Kevin,
The gauge will work with a 10mOhm sense resistor. You have to post your charger question to chargers.
