TPS54291: what parameters should be adjust if change from TPS54291 to TPS54292

Part Number: TPS54291
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS54292,

Hello,

Currently I use TPS54291 with 600kHz frequency. If I change to use TPS54292 with 1200kHz, output voltage and power keep original, what should I change?

Maybe the comp parameters should be adjust, but I don't know how to calculate.

the output inductor could keep original design with a lower ripple, but it can worked well, right?

is there any other parameters should be adjust?

thanks.

  • Hi Anders,

When you switching to a higher switching frequency, the inductor size requirement becomes smaller.  But if you decide to keep the same size, the Iripple current becomes smaller.  It should still work.

Yes, compensation network (R6, C6, R7, C9) need to be adjusted.  Please see the table shown below.

I can share a design tool that I made which should make your design changes easier.  Please email me directly.

    Regards,

    Jenson
