Team,
Could you make sure whether my calculate is correct or not in below conditions.
Must:
- Vs=6V to 36V
- Vz=5V
- Iout>50mA
Accuracy >0.5%
My calculation is as below
Iz is chosen from datasheet spec of the minimum cathode current.
Is it okay to use the Rs value even the Vs should be changed from 6V to 36V?
If yes, how do I realize the above condition?
Thanks,
Uchihara
Hi Uchihara
Max value of Rs will be decided by Load current + Knee current . Minimum value of RS will be decided by max IZ (15mA )
for RS MIN
VS= 36 V
VZ = 5V
IZ = 15mA
IL = 50mA
RS = 31/65 = 476 ohm
Now IZ min = 90uA
RS = (VS-VZ)/(IZ + IL) =
VSMIN = RS * (IZ + IL) + VZ = 0.476 (50.090) + 5 = 28.8V
Hence RS = 476 ohm will support only VS = (28.8V , 36V).
