High zero load current of pth08t231w

Hi,

We just placed used a pth08t231w like this: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/562057/pthQuestion.png

While it apparently is working as it should, the zero load current is 89mA which is way too high for what I expect. You can also notice that the pth08t231w module gets warmer. Is there anything we can do to improve the situation?

PTH08T23xW input current with 5 to5.5 Vout at no load with 12Vin input current is about 80-85mA. The inductor temperature at no load is about 50°C. .When the load is increased to about 3 Amps at 5V , the inductor temperature increases by about 57-60°C .

Ah ok,so the module is working as expected. But just out of curiosity, where did you find that information?

The thermal data is available in the data sheet for the entire product . The thermal data by most thermally active components can be requested from me.
