TPS62800: What is the output voltage accuracy of the TPS6280X in Power Save Mode?

Part Number: TPS62800
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS62290

Hi All

Customer is asking

What is the output voltage accuracy of the TPS6280X in Power Save Mode?

  • In the datasheet  the Min and Max  on the output accuracy in Power save mode is blank.
  • Is there an equation that is output load cap and current dependent?

Thanks

Jeff Coletti

  • Hi Jeff,

I think you are asking about the row in the electrical table on page 7?  This is indeed confusing and I had asked to remove this row from the D/S.  It just says that in PFM, the output voltage is not set higher.  You can see the TPS62290's dynamic voltage positioning for an example of when Vout is set higher in PFM.

On page 19, we show the typical output voltage in PFM and PWM and over Vin, load, and temperature.  For any IC with PFM mode, Vout is always a bit higher.  In this device, the increase is very small.
