BQ24092I: Check bq24092 datasheet block diagram

Part Number: BQ24092

I am using bq24092.
Currently, I am confirming the operation of TS and temperature protection by referring to bq24092.pdf.

I have a question about the block diagram on p.15.
Does the attached image part exist in bq24092?

If yes, the list of parameters associated with the two blocks is as follows?:

"Disable Sink Current" => VTS-60℃, VTS-45℃
"Cold Temperature Sink Current" => VTS-10℃, VTS-0℃

  • First of all, yes the functional block diagram is also accurate for the BQ24092. These sinks are present in the BQ24092. The block diagram is more detailed than what is needed to understand thermal regulation.

    Just to better understand the questions. Do you want to understand how the JEITA profile works? If so the way it works for the battery pack temperatures is that from 0 C -10 C the charge current is half of the fast charge, normal operation from 10 C - 45 C and then the max battery voltage is then set to 4.1V to prevent damage.

    If you are trying to understand how to monitor the temperature of the battery packs and how the current sinks work then one current source controls the temperature readings through bias current 50uA of current and the ntc resistor. Depending on the value then a bank of comparators determines what to do. You can see the tolerances on the bottom of page 8 for bias current and  page 9 for the tolerances of the datasheet.

  • Dear Manuel,

    I understand.
    Thank you.
