WEBENCH® Tools/TPS92691-Q1: Help with Clarification of incomplete Webench schematic

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS92691-Q1

art Number: TPS92691-Q1

Tool/software: WEBENCH® Design Tools

HI i am creating a circuit to power a cree xhp 70 @ 2.4a and have used webench to produce the schematic.

However there are 2 open points on the schematic labelled 1 and 2.

1. From reading the data sheet Iadj should be connected to Vcc through a 100ohm resistor, creating a reference voltage. Another resistor can then be positions between Iadj and ground to create a voltage divider and act as anologue dimming.

Is this correct?

2. So far i assume that these 2 open points should be connect to create a path between Csn and Led+. The data sheet examples show conflicting information so i thought i'd ask just to be safe.

Is this correct?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Hi Roy,

For question 1:  Your assumption is correct.  You need a a divided down voltage to IADJ to set the control current level.  Please read section 7.3.7 and section 8.1.7 for explanation of this.

For question 2:  Please see figure 41 and section 8.2.2.1 on how to design a buck boost current controller.

    Thanks Tuan
