Hi TI support

We have a question about the suitable solution for super cap charger

- Capacity: 100F

- Voltage: 5

- Charge current: 1A

Could expert give some recommendations in this case

Hi Paul,

For standalone supercap charger, we recommend BQ24640.

BQ24640 is use external FET

we found have BQ24130 use internal FET.

with this part, can we input 5V and charge for super cap 4.2 V ?

Paul,

Yes, however, like all of our chargers, the BQ24130 reduces current significantly when the battery is below VBATSHRT=2V. Charge will be very slow when the capacitor is 0V to 2V.
