BQ24295: Is USB differential pair matching necessary if USB data is not used

Part Number: BQ24295

Our design looks to use USB power adapter for charging a single cell lithium ion battery.  Is it necessary to route the differential pair at a controlled impedance to the D+/D- pins if only used for power delivery?  We do not intend to have a microprocessor connected to the D+/D- lines.

I believe the answer is no it is not necessary, and these signals could be routed as 'static' signals, but I would like to confirm.

Thanks,

Daniel
