UCC28C43-Q1: Need add input over voltage protect function or suggest new device

My customer are using UCC28C43-Q1 for EV/HEV PTC application.

specs: Flyback isolation application

Input: 150-500V DC.

Output: 15V/0.33A=5W.

Now my customer want to add input over voltage protection, when input beyond setting value, controller can disable MosFET driver and IC don't need working,

But UCC28C43-Q1 don't have over voltage function , Is there any suggestion for it?

Hello Wentao

The customer would need to design an OVP comparator to detect when the input voltage was too high and use its output to control a small signal MOSFET to pull the COMP pin to GND. This is the recommended shutdown method for the UCC28C43-Q1 device.The soft start capacitor should also be discharged when this happens so that the recovery from the OVP event is through a normal soft start.

There is no external 5V can provide to comparator.

The designer can use the VREF pin of the UCC28C43 device as the reference to the comparator.
