TPS3808G01DBVEVM: TPS3808G01QDBVRQ1 change the Rsense to a higher resistance

Part Number: TPS3808G01DBVEVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS3808

We would like to change the Rsense to a higher resistance as below to decrease the current consumption, could you please help check if it is workable or is there any risk?

R2260 => 1.8Mohm

R2261 => 140kohm

R4330 => 1.8k

3.5~16V input and the resistance is 1.8M +0.14M+0.0018M=1.9418M

The current will be 3.5V~16V  /1.9418=1.80uA ~8.23uA .The leakage in ISENSE pin is 25nA. Could you help check is there any risk?

A further question: What is the acceptable range we can increase the resistance?

  • Hi user,

    For context, this app note is very helpful for dividing down the resistors, especially on the TPS3808. As you use larger and larger resistors, there is a tradeoff between Iq and accuracy. I believe that your resistors would be in an acceptable range though. You can see the tradeoff in this graph:

    Thanks,
